Watching this as a kid whit a dad I always thought this is an classic mafia stuff (kinda with non ending shootouts , someone dying bcz of narco overdose and De Niro as a cool guy) but after watching it again I realised what its actually about , like closing casinos at the end is the reflection of total changes of business market and politic (at all) bosses of the time and etc . All of Scorsese this genre films have crazy real life bacstory and footnote meanings in scenes youll never think about
