The Virgin Spring 1960
This is one of those films in which no frame is wasted. Every shot is purposeful, evocative, beautiful. I can't say anything about it that hasn't already been said, except that I loved it far more than I expected to.

There are things about this that work; it is technically sound, it looks great, it has an incredibly talented cast all of whom seem to be doing damn good impressions of their real-life counterparts.
