Wasn't particularly affected by this. A lot of chilling moments amplified by the intense cinematography and forceful acting, but kind of how David Fincher's Zodiac didnt speak to me with it's unsatisfying ending to a brutal case with no answers, this didn't leave much of an impression with its futile, nobody-wins-the-drug-war story.

As an anxious child from western Mass, this could be my Citizen Kane. They just use the setting perfectly to play to the strengths and loveable weaknesses of semi-rural, hippyish people surrounded by hot, dry meadows, the overgrowing green everywhere, the birds and bugs drowning out every moment outdoors, old homes, dirt roads, and sad yard furniture.
