Jurassic Park 1993
I think the only thing that I end up rubbing up against this movie is that now, deep into the 21st century, I am MUCH more suspicious of Rich Geniuses with Singular Visions. I don't really want to think of them as even misled. I think if one were to write Jurassic Park today, Hammond would have to be far more arrogant, far more cutthroat to his employees, and would need to die with the park.

The version we watched seemed to be missing a lot of translated captions, but it did make me think about the incredibly clear storytelling that the cinematography gives you in this film.
I didn't realize how much the protagonists mirror and imitate each other. Goda, the main character, brands himself in the same place Chisato has the tattoo. Goto tries to get a salary job like Goda. It all leads to them foiling and orbiting each other, with the gun disrupting all standard social expectations.
