  This is a deeply Black and absurdist comedy exploring love, partnership and the death and deaths, both material and emotional, one experiences when love is lost and found. 

  Lanthimos has created a world and tone which could EASILY belong to a tense character drama or sparse psychological horror film, but populates it with loads of character actors satirizing all those genres.

  Carpenter tries SO hard to make Foggy Lepers scary, but outside of a few shots this movie is mostly just kind of slow and boring. The location and setting was beautiful though, and maybe if the movie had used suspense and the scenery more and the actual fog a bit less it would have been more
  Impactful. Highlights are the scene on the fishing boat and the last frame.

  This is THE blueprint for all modern slashers, and it has it all. Slick cinematography, incredible soundtrack, iconic villain, and impeccable vibes. No matter how many times I watch this, it manages to spook me every time. Carpenter is the master of showing, not telling, and this might be his masterwork.
