All so true, and all so human. All so familiar.
This was a hard watch. I can't explain why. Every scene brought out a memory from me---from the house, the quiet roads, the laughter that follow an awkward conversation. I've always been so confused about how I felt about my family; somehow, Koreeda managed to describe some of it with so little words.
'a tourist to each other's pain' is a such a beautiful concept. knowing everything and knowing nothing at the same time is maybe all that love can be
Our lives are so fragile, yet so stubborn at the same time.
I'm afraid of spending my whole life trying to create my own threads of fate, only to end up in an unfamiliar sweater with loose ends. Despite it all, I hope my hands can do more than just sewing; I hope I can take time to rest and look at everything I've done, to feel the love and kindness around me. I hope I don't forget to live the life I so desperately want to fill.
