Barbie synthesizes multiple generations of feminist thought in a brilliant, silly cute funny, and extremely on-the-nose style. There are many ways one could imagine a high budget blockbuster film about a corporate consumerist product fucking this up, and the impressive thing about Barbie is that it only fucks up a little bit, while successfully producing a relevant story with extremely positive messages for viewers of all genders and of all ages.
