so messy, hilarious, and weirdly profound, like a near-death experience directed by a MAD genius.

I fell asleep after watching and had nightmares so absurd they felt like bonus scenes. maybe that’s the real mind game and it keeps playing even when you’re out.
however , I just had a fever dreams and I realized I am sick now

imagine a film about two Kyrgyz cousins (or Kazakh, Uzbek, Tajik) on a road trip through Central Asia, processing the real historical baggage of colonization, lost languages, and identities shaped by the Soviet past (and russian emperialism, central asian revolt of 1916). the same mix of humor, grief, and self-discovery, but in our context. it would be powerful, relatable, and honestly—long overdue. i really want it🙏🏻

As long as Kyrgyz directors continue to chase money, such movies will continue to come out. Death to art.
Superficial movie, bright wrapper, but rotten propaganda inside.
Frankly speaking, Central Asia's tendency towards Islamization scares me. Historically, Kyrgyz have not been muslims (i am Kyrgyz as well). Why do people occupy themselves with Arab cultures when they should maintain their own traditions?
If you want to see something good worthwhile from Kyrgyz cinema, watch the films of Aktan Arym Kubat and Marat Sarulu.
