The Substance 2024
This film reminded me of a twisted fairy tale. It’s lesson very blatantly and grotesquely painted for us in horrific fleshy monstrosities.
I see so many young woman and girls these days dreading their future aging bodies, buying all these creams and remedies to keep their youth. The Substance reminds me of these tricks, it’s an overly exaggerated depiction of it.

This is a movie that only nostalgia can save.
I’ve seen plenty of 80s movies that have certain themes that don’t age well, but this was just abhorrent.

Dog Man 2025
A supa cute adaptation of the Dog Man book series!
As someone who was vaguely aware of the books and the gist of the plot, I found myself having an enjoyable time watching every character’s hijinks. The art direction and music showed off the colorful creativity of a child’s imagination, and the humor that accompanies it.
