  The Brutalist 2024

  Saw this in the theater opening day. Adrien Brody acts his ass off, I really believed him as this character. Unfortunately the long ass movie doesn't justify its runtime. I was waiting on a real central conflict to arise and pick the energy up some, but its just a man having disagreements over architecture for 2 of its 3.5 hours.

  5 stars for Brody, but this movie was putting me to sleep in the second half.

  Krampus 2015

  This could have been the modern Gremlins with a few tweaks. I love the tone, and how silly some of Krampus' minions are without the movie feeling like a straight up comedy. They're silly but definitely evil and kinda scary. I just wish they gave Krampus a personality, he was the least interesting character. David Koechner is a highlight, he plays the same guy he always does but it's fun. Adam Scott and Toni Collette are endearing together.

  Worth throwing on at Christmas if you're a horror fan.

  Jesus fucking Christ. A powerful story about body positivity in the format of a fucking overwhelmingly gross horror movie. Great performances from Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, and a masterclass in old school practical horror FX.

  Go see this movie in theaters, and gag your way to a lesson about appreciating the body you have.
