Rewatched, better than the last time. Movie checks off every box and Daniel day Lewis might’ve provided the best acting performance of all time

Honestly a fucking fantastic movie. It’s old, it takes place in one room but somehow you’re so invested into it. The ending low key hits like a truck and everything really starts to make sense. The acting was also pretty damn good and there are some intense scenes despite it being virtually one long conversation. If you are opposed to old movies, then that will probably get in the way of your enjoyment of the movie, if not, than this is honestly a much watch before you die for me

The more I think about this movie the more it deserves 5 stars. On its own movie is really good, cinematography, action, suspense, acting. But it navigates a really good theme of good vs evil and how they’re really just blended into a moral grey zone, with the backdrop of cartel wars. Anyone can watch this movie and have an entirely different perceptions of the protagonists and who or who isn’t the “good guys”, which to me elevates to S tier status.
