There Will Be Blood 2007
Finding out that Radiohead’s very own Jonny Greenwood composed the score for this film AFTER watching it blew my mind. My body really had physical reactions to this composition and the role it plays in the empty space in lieu of the dialogue is masterful.
Daniel Day-Lewis has one of the most enthralling on screen performances I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It’s a wild ride of watching him slowly descend into madness, all while questioning his morality…

uh i literally dont know where to start
So many laughs, so many tears shed… each and every moment of this film broke me down to the core and brought up memories and emotions I forgot I had. I felt like a child in his most vulnerable state not knowing what I’m going to feel next.

M 1931
i can respect this a lot for what it is and for being made when it was. i think my inexperience with b&w film and really old films in general made it difficult for me to fully connect with this. from a narrative point of view though, this was super ahead of it’s time in it’s general portrayal of “society”.
i may rewatch another time, wish i was more into it.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Visually and Sonically one of the most stimulating films I’ve ever watched. This movie isn’t half of what it is without Hans Zimmer… this score is one for the ages. Some of these shots, which I don’t want to give specific about, literally had me in awe, wondering how you can even think of something like that. Seeing the color-grading during the Harkonnen ascension part especially really did it for me. Ridiculous amounts of attention to detail, so much that…
