Very compelling film. The trope was well thought out and pleasingly lacked the unrealistic narrative of gay couples. With the introduction of Native American culture, and the historical context of living on a reservation; viewers can understand a series of ideals—such as poverty, culture, and mental awareness. Each character endures and encounters self acceptance in their own ways, passively navigating through the hardship of change and struggle. I enjoyed the slow burn of the main characters, and relished the narrative of finding yourself while loving another. This film was short of words but told a story on its own terms.
