The movie hinges on Henry’s decision to invade France — what was his purpose? He seeks to know that himself.
We’re lead to believe that he has been convinced by his court that England will appear weak if he does not invade. The problem, however, is that his portrayal at the beginning of the movie sets him up as someone so against war that it felt entirely unlikely to me that he would be convinced by his court to invade.
I think if the movie had balanced those issues better then it would have been an amazing film. It just barely missed greatness for me.
