Heretic 2024
While the premise was basic the first half of the movie is great. Hugh Grant is charming, creepy and gets the full control of the offense in this film.
Unfortunately the second half falls off the rails. It reminded me a lot of the movie Barbarian from a couple years ago. The tension they built in the first half didnt yield dividends.
Lucky for me I parlayed a Jar Jar Binks reference with the over on Monopoly sets so I cashed out.

We Live in Time 2024
As a Garfield season ticket holder I had to tune in to see him cook. My guy turns in a good performance in an absolutely heartbreaking movie. The happiest part of the whole film is when he gets hit by a car.
I did enjoy the time jumping format of the film, it was very well done. The giving birth scene was supposed to be the climax but I can’t tolerate them. Minus 1/2 star for that, sorry those are my rules.

The Company You Keep 2012
Full disclosure I have not seen Mr. Redford’s work from his glory days but this movie feels like when a team takes a chance on a past his prime superstar. Aaron Rodgers on the Jets feels harsh but somewhere in that neighborhood.
The movie is fine. It’s not bad but there is no tension. I never felt invested in the story. There are a lot of good actors who showed out to work with Rob but unfortunately it didn’t amount to much.
Does Shia Lebouf have rizz or is he just talking very fast?

An easy to watch, fun summer movie. It’s an ode to the process of making movies, stuntmen in particular.
Gosling carries the movie with his signature charm. It’s his best move and makes him the most reliable actor going.
Aaron Taylor Johnson must have a great agent that guy is in every movie.
