This movie didn’t make me cry while watching,
but did a little after (⚠️ spoiler alert)
Look Back didn’t have a complicated plot, but hit right where it hurts- the struggle to be better than everyone at something and never being enough no matter the amount of effort. It also showcased a difference in perception of a person and skill level in one’s eyes- in one’s you’re the loser and others - the idol.
Another aspect I found fascinating was…
Finally a worthwhile movie about ordinary people in Bihar. The story was amazing in it’s simplicity, made people of all age categories laugh and for once wasn’t about UPSC or gangs ( usual Bihari oriented cinema ). The cast was very refreshing and performed excellently. This movie was a fresh breath into Bollywood, giving me some hope it will resurrect. Kiran Rao deserves more praise.
An amazing heartfelt movie about how a person who thought simply was the most beautiful, and was able to attain the most pure and unconditional form of love.
It made me tear up as a little kid! My mom was watching it and I sat, not getting up till the end of the movie. Olive’s confidence in herself was something I lived for in the movie. MUST WATCH!!
