okay so i came into this film completely blind and without having watched the first film but holy woahh an actual animation masterpiece! i find a lot of animated Chinese films recently have had a lot of the same facial design for characters - this was no exception, unfortunately - but! the attention to detail in textures of things was what really made it stand out for me, regardless. you can definitely tell this was a labour of love.
