This movie is hypnotic. Happened to be the first Michael ironside movie I ever saw, so every one since is especially delightful-especially the second, Starship Troopers, since Scanners’ Revok and ST’s Rasczak are hilariously similar in name and intimidation factor. Enjoyed the framing of this movie, was bored at first since it was just people at a party recording goodbye messages for some guy moving to Japan, but it heats up when the guy filming starts going around telling everyone that the guy and some girl had fucked a few weeks ago, to the point I was engrossed in the drama of the people’s lives and actually surprised when the first impact and monster shriek came in.
