Shadows 1958
Few films tend to match my level of vibration so effortlessly as shadows, with its existential questions rooted in beat culture. Cynicism and qurckiness over a "who fucked who" plot of the pretentious underground. The passion of this project shines clearly through the crowdfunded budget and the acting students and volunteers that took part in it.

A Charlie Brown Christmas 1965
My conflicted feelings for Christmas have finally been put into a film. This is brilliant and entertaining in every way. It really caught me off guard since I wasn't familiar with Charlie Brown, but it successfully captures the complexity of contemporary holiday seasons and the imense pressure of being in a jolly mood and feeling special without losing points from the Christmas themed joy that a film of its kind delivers

Funny Games 1997
"but you are on their side aren't you?"
Nihilistic, mind numbing, almost 2-hour long psychological torture. No gore, no graphic scenes, no big budget vfx and makeup, just talking face to face. It's a film that knows it's a film and yeah, it's pretty dark and unsettling, but the message it sends about the illusion of free choice and the control the media has over us, is timeless, and ironic
