Intricately weaving a variegated womanly melodrama, Almodovar presents an emotionally satisfying and brilliantly played film with a heart-warming nictitate to classics of theater and cinema. Although the tone is predominantly dark and confrontational, the script eases up a bit with humor and wit. Brilliant, dynamic photography captures the three dimensional characters, exudes the most dimensional dialogues, and makes you feel like you have succumbed to a seductress.
Although the TV series couldn't capture Gillian Flynn's internalised disorienting prose, but it finds it's form through Adam's portrayal of a sardonic and self-loathing Camille Preaker, making a great television that is both haunting and riveting at the same time.
Filled with oddball characters portrayed to their full eccentricities by spectacular actors, aesthetically arranged scenes mixed with sheer momentous hilarity, The French Dispatch is a treat that I'd like to come back to sometime in the future.
