  Goodness this movie made such an impression on me that I had to rewatch it.

  It’s creepy with little breaks of humor and it still holds the right tone. There’s a kooky whimsy that is reminiscent of German folklore. I also really enjoy the hypnotic elements every time the creature attacks.

  “I know the sea too but mine is a dark sea”

  There isn’t much dialogue but when there is, it punches you right in the gut. Something rare about this film is that it conveys so much in such a short time. If I could have 5 top films on here, this would surely make the list.
