This isn't really a good movie, but I'm still giving it three stars, because Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford gave fantastic performances that helped sell the drama, and the Red Hulk action was legitimately enjoyable Hulk Mayhem, and I personally felt it was well earned. I went in with low expectations, just attempted to enjoy it for what it is, took my kid, and we had a fun time. The trailer spoiled the sense of mystery the movie could have…
The whole film is a set up for a climactic meta-joke, but the joke funny enough to serve as pay off for the whole. In other words, the whole movie is funny and surprisingly moving, and then the ending elevates the whole affair to almost Swiftian levels of irony.
A little long, a little slow, a little convoluted, but the climax featured some well-orchestrated, gritty action, and Aaron Pierre is a charismatic lead.
