A genuinely beautiful use of the biopic format. In light of recent instances of masturbatory money grabs, films with no interest in the nuance of beloved musicians. This movie shines as a warts and all seemingly authentic depiction of the gentle soul of Brian Wilson and his tormented pursuit of life. The film bares a shining optimism for ambition and love that I haven't felt a film depict in a long while.

third time watching, I don’t know if I can explain my love for this movie.
it’s cynical but apathetic and the bittersweet narrative just says something to me. The mantra the movie wields being: Live can be cheap and monotonous but maybe sometimes the turd sparkles.
