I need one of those YouTube video essay girlies to break this down for me because this movie is obv a narrative carefully crafted to sell 1D as a product/commodity and it’s clear from the way things all fell apart that there was a lot more going on behind the scenes. Their depiction of the fandom was also a little gross — the neuroscience thing? Come on. This did make me cry tho.

I came home to my roommate watching this in the living room and joined for remaining 2 hours of the movie (I am being told that all Bollywood movies are 3+ hours long). The main dude (Dev) was genuinely the WORST and it distressed me to know that the actor 1) is just like that as a guy, 2) is like that every movie he’s in, and 3) is in a lot of movies. The main woman was also a little insufferable and I was not rooting for either of them even a little bit. But the song sequences were fun!
