  Is this film worth a review? I suppose everything is, but I don’t want to give it much time. It was fine. It made me feel like I could make a film better than this, which a useful experience to have. 

  I wanted more of a deep dive into masculinity and femininity. The concept was interesting, the execution wasn’t fantastic. I liked how DIY it was though.

  My favourite part by far was the piece by Greg Youmans and Chris Vargas…

  I watched this a year or more ago but wanted to add a review after remembering its existence. This film is so beautiful and necessary. It’s cool how diy it is I guess , because it makes the journey feel really real and possible on some level…

  Just sheer beauty

  Every scene a new wonder

  The way the camera looks into the world is the way I would want to be looked at if I were the world. And I am, and I like to look at the world as the world, and this film makes me feel seen because of that desire.

  A Thousand and One 2023

  This film is a moving portrait of love and explores what it means to be a loving family beyond the imposed or assumed borders of biology.  It also explores what family means for black young people raised on the streets of Harlem and Brooklyn in the 90s.

  I felt the characters weren’t very well developed initially, but soon warmed to them further into the film. For a debut feature film this is quite amazing. It has given me insight that I’m grateful for.
