  the moment when the grandma pulls the bag of 고춧가루 out of her suitcase and it’s tied in the little knot at the top was my favorite. it was so simple but felt so personal because my grandma did the exact same thing when she came to america for the first time. i love the attention to little details like this in minari. this scene had both my mom and i sobbing in the theater.
