  utterly abysmal in every way. not content to merely be a fucked up romance - which it may have succeeded at! - it aims for the crown of "worst message movie you have ever seen", in keeping with fennell's previous. it isn't shocking enough to work as a study in provocation and whatever it has to say about class and sexuality is offensive when given a charitable reading. completely out of touch and not even in a way that gives insight into the mind of its author. who is this for?

  it's an utter testament to the talents of everyone involved that a movie like this could have such scope without ever losing sight of what it's trying to say. daniels have kept the clay pot sealed and i am awe.
