In 2019, when I visited LA, I went to the pupuseria at Grand Central Market. They had signs posted all over about being featured in La La Land. I thought to myself, Wow, I can't believe I'm eating pupusas at the same place they eat pupusas in La La Land! Now that I have seen La La Land, I know that the pupuseria at Grand Central Market is on screen for approximately one second.

I saw the trailer and saw Cate Blanchett in that wig and thought “yeah, that’s the kind of diva I’d worship” and then I watched this movie for 90 minutes and thought “yeah, that’s the kind of diva I’d worship.”

Neither here nor there but the lighting is NOT good. There’s a dinner scene with diagetic lighting on the table and it’s actually the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.

Harrowing to see ethnic cleansing in real time. Just gutting. Shame on every distributor passing on this. History will not look kindly on you.

I’ve loved Wicked for over 10 years. I remember constantly checking out the CD from the public library so that I could drive around and blast it from my car speakers. I don’t know anyone who’s a bigger fan of Making Good, the scrapped first draft of The Wizard and I. I love Wicked so much it feels impossible to write something coherent. A few scattered thoughts:

    Ariana Grande ate that down

It does what every movie musical should do,…

And if I said this was a parable on the dangers of unleashing AI onto a world governed by police and prisons… then what?
