  if you don’t take it too seriously, it was pretty fun. i think it knows what it is, and i liked it. it’s a christmas movie. i’m not asking for peak effects or cgi… and obviously they didn’t either. a fun production! love to see lucy liu and the rock.

  watched like a year ago for class
  it is exceptionally great for psychological horror. i very well can understand how this was a turning point for horror animation- its subject matter is dark and intense. some scenes are infamously uncomfortable- but that’s intended. it is not something for you to enjoy all the way through… if that makes sense.

  it is uniquely visually stunning for its time. and given that the original animation was lost to the sands of time, i never watched the previous cut, so it didn’t affect me much.
