I remember thinking this movie was so sad when I was little and I never watched it again. Like I remember watching him in the beginning struggling to understand what was going on and losing his meal vouchers and stuff, and that made me so sick I guess I just forgot that the rest of the movie is literally a bizarre fever dream of events with Stanley Tucci stepping in every few scenes to at least make it engaging again…

This movie is so openly insane. I really don’t think it would have worked nearly as well or at all if it was anyone other than Tippi Hedren just playing herself having a real actual psychotic break onscreen after being harassed within an inch of her life by Alfred Hitchcock and Sean Connery. Every time she screams when Mark comes within three feet of her it’s the realest scream I’ve ever heard 😭. I just think it’s so boldly crazy…
