This movie is a lotta vibes maybe more than tight, tensions filled storytelling, but it's vibes ARE still great.

Brody's juice is there but never gets fully tapped like it does in King Kong. The real twist is the movie turnning out to be a real Ben Affleck showcase (which in 2006 was quite unexpected).

It ALMOST builds a truly fascinating mystery around the death of George Reeves, and the Superman & Hollywood elements on top of that do provide some real spice, yet all in it's a bit of a messy flick.

STILL.... the slow sleazy jazz soundtrack and old-timey LA/Hollywood setting is enough for me.

The world is a terrifying, cynical place run by terrible, greedy, horrible men - and this movie is such a respite, a chance to see ourselves as we SHOULD be striving to be.

I think this might be Jim Carrey's best performance?
