  There are worse things you could see this October. There are also definitely better. Themes? Half baked at best. Tone? Varies. Halloween Kills? It certainly does, and if you would primarily like to see people transformed into corpses in exciting ways, you could probably add a star.

  The most aggressively low concept film I’ve seen in a long time, and STRICTLY  enjoyable. A cinematic Rorschach for you to project your own weird shit onto. The only hard rule I have for discussing this one is to not let your film school tell you what it is about. 

  Is feminine energy inherently punished in male spaces? How much denial is valid before you have corrupted your found family? Do we inflict traumas without inflicting them on ourselves? How fuckable are Cadillacs? You tell me.

  As darkly funny as it is biting, a genre film tinged with misandry in a very deserved way. This movie is is a shining example of a sub genre near and dear to my heart done well.

  This was certainly a movie I watched. As a long time fan of the games, it was cool to see them brought to life, and the fight scenes were well done. Not well enough done to make up for a dogshit script and grating comic relief. The fact the characters exist IS the joke, Kano doesnt need to be tossing pop culture references at me 24/7. Viewable, not rewatchable. Maybe the inevitable sequels will be a little better.
