The film really is about a man who is haunted by his career and a woman who provides an escape into a comforting reality. Park Chan Wook litters the film with symbols of mountains and the sea to help distinguish these two characters. The extremely precise and tight editing helps to provide parallels for the viewer to latch onto and acknowledge the significance of the scenes it cuts between.

The film definitely explores how broken friendships can affect lives and I feel like most people can relate to this film with losing friends throughout their lives. as well as the idea of your life dwindling into a nothingness and blaming your lack of purpose onto others. Great film, good acting from Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan. And just a simple story that was able to touch my heart.

This film reminds me of Roma with how it holds on its static wide shots and allows the world of Mexico to breathe and present itself to the audience.
