how is this not one of the most popular gay cult movies. a lot of this made me smile like an idiot, which i think is insanely hard to do with a story that focuses on aids. even the sad parts were immediately looked at through a positive lens. loved it. i wish we got to see more of jeffrey’s inner monologue but i enjoyed the little vignettes to peer into his thoughts. i think this is severely underrated and idk how i only discovered its existence the other day on an ig reel. SO SO GOOD

one of the first jokes he made was about how your dad’s mom shouldn’t be alive so that automatically soured my mouth a little tbh. This feels like you’re at a family reunion and john mulaney is that one family member who keeps talking and everyone wants them to leave. i used to love john mulaney’s standup but jesus this feels almost abysmal. the jab about people liking bo burnham more than him just felt so like “im famous boo hoo why doesn’t anybody like me”. also why is the audience cheering and laughing at every sentence
