The Piano 1993
deemed a “feminist classic”, the piano is an utterly disgusting view of love and sexual awakening. the only reason this film won an award is because it is an aggressive and horrifying dom male fantasy. i am actually frightened that people would see anything romantic about this movie. i am repulsed by it. blackmail isn’t sexy. choosing a man over your passion isn’t lustful. painting manipulation as anything but is dangerous and ignorant. i feel so strongly about this take that i would feel uncomfortable being in the presence of someone who enjoyed this movie.
