  Wow, this one is going to stay with me for a while. I got sucked in the minute it started, with the unsettling music score, gorgeous b/w cinematography, close up shots of sand and skin and sand on skin - existential and erotic, what a combo!! Really tense to watch, just knowing how hopeless and futile the man's efforts were to escape.

  One of the saddest and most beautiful films I've ever watched, and re-watching it has only made me more sure of this. I've always enjoyed Charlie Kaufman's quirkiness, but this one runs deeper. There is a message in this movie that I can't quite put into words but after the movie is over, it just leaves you with this feeling, and I guess it's up to the viewer what they do with this feeling.
