While I appreciate how far this leans into authenticity in recreating the feel of actually watching TV during Halloween in the 80s and the shocking ending, the story itself is told in a bare minimum and I honestly had to fast forward the commercials at some point. Had the commercials at least kept some more Halloween flair then it would have fit better imo.

The Wild Bunch 1969
Tinted with an impressive realism that redefines the term "epic". The title is misleading and does not really match the themes of the film. And there are two narrative threads that do not intertwine very harmoniously. We expect an epic standoff between pike and his hunter so the end is rather anti-climatic. But damn what a good film. I pulled my hair out at times.

The Day the Earth Caught Fire 1961
"The Day the Earth Caught Fire" is a solid slice of vintage sci-fi that cleverly blends newsroom drama with apocalyptic thrills. Though its pacing might feel a bit slow, the film's sharp script and atmospheric tension make it a compelling watch for fans of classic disaster flicks.
