Adaptation. 2002
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The first 2/3 of this film was excellent. All of the characters are compelling and the acting is amazing.
The ending was disappointing. The writing is clever, but I would rather have seen something a little less clever that does justice to Streep and Cooper's characters.
I would definitely consider a rewatch down the line.

Good watch. The animation is spot on here, and I was impressed by the sound.
The main character, Shoya is amazingly written. Similarly to the rest of the characters who we see bullying Shouko at the start of the film, it becomes less about how that could have affected Shouko and more about understanding and forgiving themselves. These characters achieve this with varying levels of success. Shoya's story is touching throughout, the way he sees the world and dwells on…
