The Brutalist 2024
An okay movie with some excellent motifs dispersed through enough to keep me interested. Using Jewish diaspora as an allegory for your struggles as a punished artist is extremely distasteful to put it mildly. And to be so ambivalent about it and use Israel as an ambiguous cudgel is strange. That's the bad taste that's left in my mouth.

This movie really makes me question how good of a filmmaker Chris Nolan really is. His prior films were bolstered by the pre-created fandom and lore of Batman and his other hits (The Prestige and Memento) had great screenplays.
