This had so much potential to be great but fell short in terms of story. The “Satanic” stereotype is way too shallow and Nicolas Cage’s acting + character didn’t contribute much to the story at all. Felt like the director was just trying to work around Cage’s overly crackheaded acting lmao, I argue that the film would’ve been better without his acting.

Cinematography and aesthetic was 🤌✨ though, and Maika’s acting was immaculate. Overall a bit of an overhyped film, though props to its marketing team.

Only getting 2 stars for the beautiful cinematography, nothing else.

I've never seen any other indie animated film put so much detail in to animating the world and fleshing it out with so much life and love. The background characters, the personality of each character, the little background details, advertisements, posters felt so alive. Despite it's simplistic style, everything felt so real and lively. The story was a bit drawn out at times, but wrapped it up with a soul crushingly bittersweet, punch in the gut ending, in the good way.

Still not too sure what the film was trying to say. There were some enjoyable moments and cool shots but I expected way more from the mind behind Mr. Robot. Felt like he was trying to say something but gave up half way
