  Simon Phoenix is such a charismatic and dangerous madman, I'm shocked the character doesn't have more of a presence in Popular culture.
  He's a cool, black, likely tax avoiding, Joker. Why isn't he way more popular?!

  Once you get over the twisted Orwellian double speak and "Idiocracy"-esque stupidity of this future "utopia", it's a really fun, classic action flic.

  And if you're not the cynical type, you might even argue that there's some interesting themes on rehabilitation and some liberal vs conservative discourse just beneath the surface.
