  Hundreds of Beavers 2022

  It’s really rare to see movie boundaries get pushed but Hundreds of Beavers manages to stretch what is essentially one joke into a complete and satisfying narrative arc that also somehow manages to be the best video game movie ever made. 

  Video game logic is so engrained in mainstream culture now and this movie utilizes it to full effect. More movies should be like Hundreds of Beavers.

  Genuinely enjoyed the hell out of this for its depiction of how fucked up marriage is and how love blinds people. The scene of Thomas being shuttled to Orlock’s castle is worth the price of admission alone.

  Distinctly not a shoot em up fantasy but a taut thriller boiling with rage and focus. The pacing and twist and turns really make it fly by. But the main lead in Aaron Pierre is the real deal. He is stunning in this and really makes the movies clockwork story work so well. You feel for him right on the get go. He is awesome and the movie tackles cops, civil liberties, and the justice system so unflinchingly.

  Not a single ounce of fat on this movie, pure thrill, laser focused. You can’t stop watching it.
