GoodFellas 1990
Good. Loved seeing the godfather and sopranos regulars all in one, made for an epic cast mash up.
However, none of the characters are sympathetic, in contrast to other mafia content. The protagonist is not likable or convincing, and there was no character I felt connected to. Character exploration is shallow and Scorsese keeps emotional depth at arms length. Still very well crafted.

The Brutalist 2024
Wow, this one has many layers to process. Such rich but painful history, such raw emotion, and sincere portrayal of humanity at its best and worst.
The opening sequence and score are enthralling-literally breathtaking. I particularly enjoyed the interwoven narration throughout the first act. First half- marvelous. But the uneven pacing of the second half and disjointed epilogue had me questioning. Fantastic last line, that one hit me hard.
