  I thought the main character was kind of conceited until I remembered they are like 12 years old. Gave it an extra half-star for telling its story in under an hour. Given its runtime, I could recommend this to anyone.

  Very dorky movie. Watching it felt like I was peering into a long-form poem, where each scene was a stanza. It was artsy, creative, cute, and engaging. I won’t pretend like the plot line was too memorable or anything but the characters were easy to root for and the story has a sweet ending. I have not watched much Wes Anderson, but I imagine it is very similar to his other work. What I appreciated most was the layered nature of each character, providing an unspoken background to the actions we see.
