Sydney Sweeney did a great job. Really showed her range as an actor and I think she could be a great “scream queen” (and is at the end of this film). The plot kind of jumps the shark at the end though, and while it certainly is “unique” in its approach, there are a number of “okay really? That’s what they thought would work” sort of moments… considering it also came out around the same time as The First Omen, it pales in comparison given the similar plots. Great acting and storytelling. Scariest “demon child/giving birth to antichrist” type of film in quite some time. Good prequel to an iconic film in horror history.

A WILD WILD ride.
Acting: superb (especially Demi Moore; definitely an Oscar nom coming her way)
Make up and special effects: a modern breakthrough that can only be compared to the likes of The Fly and The Thing(1982). I’m loving this comeback of practical effects with only slightly the CGI that is coming these days. If this doesn’t win an award for VFX and Makeup alone, then every award show is beyond rigged.

Blink Twice 2024
Great directorial debut by Zoë Kravitz. Very fun (and terrifying in terms of abuse) ride. Filled with some disturbing twists and turns with a very fun final act and *chef’s kiss* finale. Yes, some of it you have to suspend disbelief; but a fun ride nonetheless. Definitely prompts one to want to go back and rewatch this a time or two. Channing was quite disturbing as well. Cannot wait to see what else Miss Kravitz directs.
