I can’t even comprehend what I just watched. Absolutely no words
The type of film you watch once at 15 but forget the title and think it was a fever dream.
This was Kinda like Alice in Wonderland on crack so obviously I enjoyed it, love Williams’ work on cinematography always
Was very much enjoying Kristen Stewart in this but then it got a bit too absurd for me
Certainly a new and unique perspective on portraying the Holocaust on film but was it really… necessary? Maybe it’s because I’ve been taught this topic in school most of my life and am too familiar with it but I didn’t find it haunting or disturbing. The only aspect I enjoyed was the feeling of nostalgia for spending summers at my grandma’s house, given the filming location.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I honestly thought all the Robert De Niro spanking Leonardo DiCaprio jokes weren’t real. Lily Gladstone and Martin Scorsese truly made history with this film, I believe the runtime although not effortless per se to get through is completely justified. The scene where mollie finds out her sister anna brown died is going to stay with me for a very long time, it is such an honest depiction of grief and loss and Lily deserves to get recognition for it.
The music, the visuals, the storyline, everything felt so vibrant cudi I love you
Camila and Maia work so well together, it truly wouldn’t be the same without them!
