    Mickey 17

    ★★★½

Pretty straightforward stuff! What you see in the trailer is what you get and it's a fairly easy-to-grip storyline that likes having fun with the satire and characterizations it has. It's all pretty clean-cut and I think the standout of this as mentioned is the characters. Mickey in particular is a fun protagonist in a rock bottom situation falling into the hands of being an expendable continuously giving his services. I love Robert Pattinson in this.

There isn't much for me to say about it aside from that but I liked the feeling I got while watching this and I think it's neat.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

    ★★★★

Color me a little surprised with the higher praise I can give this over the previous two. Something else is present along with it this time around that has brought a favorable reaction.

This one in particular just feels different even if just slightly. But it's noticeable. Even with the present elements that come with Guardians movies that I didn't care all that much for before, I didn't seem to mind them here and even enjoyed some of it a…

It's a strange thing to feel this way about a Scott Pilgrim project. Being a fan of the comic series, the movie, and having dabbled in the videogame, it's a weird feeling being where I am now.

This wasn't for me. I think. The biggest thing I think most people who were conflicted on this have mentioned is the fact that the promotions and such made this seem geared as a more direct adaptation of the comics which then led…

    Paddington

    ★★★

The only real commentary of minor substance I can give this is that it's interesting to see how in this world no one in the general public really seems to mind Paddington's existence as a bear that walks and talks like a human. Something is definitely different about all this but it's clearly not meant to be questioned much, which is fine.

Other than that you will enjoy this if you like completely pure and heartfelt stories. It's very straightforward: If you're able to open your heart to Paddington, you'll like this enough.
