The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover 1989
I feel like more people should know about this movie. It is BEAUTIFUL. A masterpiece in filmmaking. The set design looks like everything was hand painted. From the green dungeon-like kitchen, the hellish red dining room, to the immaculate white bathroom. Everything looked spectacular and was so well thought out. Even the hairstyles and the costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier. The writing and acting *mwah! *chefs kiss (pun intended). It was so well crafted and right up to the very end-which has one of the best endings I’ve seen in a movie. Superb, well done.

I almost walked out. I went in expecting a lot more from Oz Perkins after Longlegs and how much I enjoyed that movie. This however was very much a letdown. The trailer is 10x better than the movie itself. The film has interesting cameos and moments where it’s ALMOST entertaining. Those are the only positives that come to mind.
