Alien 1979
Sigourney Weaver is such a fantastic actress. I believe her character is just so well written. I think strong female leads can tend to be written to diminish others around them and are more tell, not show.
In this case though, they let her show emotion, she problem solves, she cooperates with others, and she shows strength and compassion. She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she is the moment.

I totally watched this movie because it’s the sequel to one of the most beloved movies ever, totallllly not because it stars Paul Mescal as the main character, the actor I’ve been following for years after his jaw dropping dramatic performances in projects such as All of Us Strangers and Normal People, totally not cause he’s my celebrity crush. Nah. What?
Anyways, it was fun! Felt like and had the energy and gravitas of the original. Some pacing issues definitely but that’s hard to get right in projects as big as these. Overall, enjoyed it!
