  Rose is a sister three times over: in the literal sense of a blood relative, in the professional sense of being a gynaecological nurse (the German word for nurse is Schwester/sister) and in the symbolic sense of being a woman and therefore part of a greater "sisterhood". The question The Good Sister poses is: does one meaning outweigh the others?

  As a sister myself, the movie's details in portraying a loving sibling relationship feel beautifully on point - which makes Rose's following experience so much more resounding. Dripping faucet and snail imagery included.

  Clear robotic lines meet blurry nature contours and then they just run together and you heart opens up wide.
  And when we are not laughing in synch about the toughness of the wilderness and the quirkyness of these animals, everyone around me in the theater is silently, happily crying. Together.
  What a wonder of a movie.
